Is gel nail polish allowed as a medical covering for wudu?

Salam everyone. I struggle with compulsive skin picking-whenever my natural nails are free, I pick at my skin until it bleeds and hurts. Gel polish is the only thing that reliably stops me; regular nail polish doesn't work because I end up peeling it off and then I'm back to picking. But taking off and reapplying gel polish multiple times a day for wudu isn't possible without damaging my fingers further. I've tried finger covers, bandaids, henna, oral meds, and therapy, but nothing worked. Is it permissible to treat gel polish like a medical dressing and wipe over it for wudu?
