Can I visit a mosque? Is it okay?
Assalamu alaikum! I hope this question isn't weird, but I'm a 20-year-old woman from Brazil. I follow a local religion (Umbanda and Candomblé), and I've always had deep respect for other faiths. Islam really touches my heart in a special way. I find the Quran recitations beautiful, and I feel a strong sense of faith through the prayers and practices. But I'm not interested in converting-I just want to learn more about Islam, and maybe also Hinduism. I've never been inside a mosque, but I'd love to visit and experience praying and learning respectfully. I want to make sure I don't offend anyone, so how should I approach people at the mosque? How can I study the Quran while staying true to my own beliefs? Is it unethical for me to attend? And what should I wear? In my religion we have specific clothes for rituals, but I don't know the dress code for a mosque. Any advice would be really appreciated. I want to be extremely respectful and learn more about this beautiful faith. Jazakallahu khairan!
