Zuhr Prayer Recitation from Intention to Salam: Arabic, Latin, and Meaning
Zuhr prayer is an obligation for Muslims, as commanded by Allah SWT in Surah Al-Baqarah verse 43. Here's the correct way to perform the four-rak'ah Zuhr prayer: reciting the intention, takbiratul ihram, opening supplication, Al-Fatihah, a short surah (in the first and second rak'ahs), bowing, standing straight, prostration, sitting between the two prostrations, second prostration, initial tashahhud in the second rak'ah, final tashahhud in the fourth rak'ah, and ending with salam.
The intention for Zuhr prayer differs for praying alone (munfarid), as imam, and as follower (makmum). Intention for munfarid: "Ushallii fardhazh zhuhri arba'a raka'aatin mustaqbilal qiblati adaa'an lillaahi ta'aalaa" (I intend to pray the obligatory Zuhr prayer, four rak'ahs, facing the qibla, on time, for the sake of Allah Ta'ala). Every rak'ah requires reciting Al-Fatihah, and in the first and second rak'ahs it's recommended to recite a short surah after it.
