A Sign from Allah

This past week has been really tough for me. I've been dealing with a personal issue that's made me super anxious and stressed, and I couldn't sleep all night. When I realized it was past 8 am, I thought I'd try something to calm down. It's this practice of writing about what you want in life, but as if you already have it-using present tense. I've heard about this from both Muslim and non-Muslim sources. You know, there's the law of attraction thing, but what really got me was how it reminded me of the importance of the pen (qalam) in Islam. So I grabbed my notebook that I'd been using for studying-the one where my brother and I had calculated some not-so-great grades-and I just started writing. At one point, I wrote about how Allah (SWT) didn't change Prophet Zakariya's (AS) physical condition before granting him a son. He didn't make him young again or give him a child through another marriage. Allah answered his dua without needing to change anything because the things that seem impossible to us are nothing for Allah. As soon as I finished writing, I picked up my phone and scrolled Instagram a bit. I usually get Islamic content, so when a Quran recitation reel popped up within the first minute, I didn't think much of it. But SubhanAllah, it was the verses from Surah Maryam about that very miracle! I got goosebumps. I wrote that down in my journal too, in blue ink, so I can remember the personal miracles. Also, while writing, I wrote the words 'He renewed my trust in Him,' and I got this weird déjà vu feeling like I'd done this before. Honestly, we don't need more signs-our existence and the world around us are signs enough. But when something like this happens, it renews your hope and makes you feel better. I hope this gives you the same peace I'm feeling right now. InshaAllah, Allah will grant your heart's desire, answer your prayers, and make your life better through it. Ameen.
