NTT Earthquake: Mother and Baby Die Embracing Under Rubble in Manggarai
A 7.7 magnitude earthquake shook Flores Island, NTT, Saturday (8/15/2026), killing a mother and her baby in Manggarai Regency. Both were found buried under rubble in an embracing position.
During evacuation, the mother was lying on her back with the baby on her chest and one arm still hugging. This heartbreaking moment moved residents and the evacuation team.
