Why Do Tears Flow When I Think of Allah or Read the Qur'an?
Assalamu alaikum everyone, I wanted to share something I've been pondering and see if anyone else feels this way. Whenever I pray, recite the Qur'an, or come across reminders about Allah's mercy, I get overwhelmed with emotion. Sometimes my eyes just water up, other times I actually start crying. And it's not just in private-it can happen even when I'm on the go, like during my commute, if I read something touching about Islam. The feeling is hard to put into words, but it's as if my heart just melts whenever I reflect on Allah or immerse myself in His words. I'm fully aware that I'm far from perfect and have my share of shortcomings, which sometimes makes me wonder about this reaction. We often hear that a hardened heart indicates distance from Allah, but mine feels the opposite-it becomes incredibly tender when it comes to matters of faith. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there any Islamic insight or scholarly explanation? Could this be a blessing of Allah's mercy, or is it simply an emotional response? Jazakum Allahu khayran for any thoughts.
