Where did Eurovision go wrong?
Eurovision's claim to be apolitical is wearing thin. While the EBU banned Russia swiftly, Israel's participation during its war on Gaza has sparked boycotts from broadcasters in the Netherlands, Slovenia, Spain, Iceland, and Ireland-costing the contest nearly €1 million in fees. Artists and fans are speaking out, with over 1,000 signing a 'No Music for Genocide' letter. Despite a reduced max vote count after alleged manipulation last year, Israel is still in, and pro-Palestinian flags are banned inside the venue. For many, it's a painful double standard.
