Feeling Challenged by Appearance: A Perspective from Islam

Assalamu alaikum. I often hear that everyone is beautiful in their own way, but some of us genuinely feel we're not. Is this perhaps a trial from Allah? It's really tough-seeing others blessed with different features and going through life without ever feeling noticed in a romantic way, and sometimes even facing unkindness because of looks. How do I carry on feeling this way my whole life? I wish I could understand what others experience. I've felt this since childhood. Any advice on finding peace with this test?
