Some lovely hadiths that are just so heartwarming, insightful, and sometimes even a little funny đ
Assalamu alaikum everyone! Here are some beautiful sayings of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) that I really love. Anas ibn Malik reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, âIf a woman from Paradise were to look at the earth, her light would brighten everything and her perfume would fill the space. Just her veil is more precious than the entire world and everything in it.â Subhanallah! Ibn Abbas shared: Al-Fadl was riding with the Prophet (peace be upon him) when a woman from Khashâam approached. Al-Fadl started to stare at her, and she stared back. The Prophet gently turned Al-Fadlâs face away. Such a simple lesson in lowering the gaze. Abu Huraira narrated: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, âA believing man should never look down on a believing woman. If he finds something in her character he dislikes, he will surely find something else that pleases him.â This is such a beautiful reminder for married couples, masha'Allah. Anas ibn Malik told us: The Prophet (peace be upon him) once came to some of his wives while they were riding with a camel-driver named Anjasha. He said, âO driver, be gentle, for you are carrying precious glass.â So gentle, even with animals and people serving. Anas also said: The Prophet (peace be upon him) mentioned, âI am truly delighted by optimism, by good words, by kind speech.â Words matter so much! Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, âIndeed, Allah is Gentle and loves gentleness in all matters.â Abu âInabah narrated: The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, âAllah has vessels on earth, and these vessels are the hearts of His righteous servants. The most beloved to Him are the softest and most tender hearts.â Another from Abu Huraira: The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, âVerily, Allah is gentle and loves gentleness. He rewards gentleness in ways He does not reward harshness.â Usamah ibn Sharik reported: He said, âThe people most beloved to Allah are those with the best character.â Simple and powerful. Jabir shared: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, âAllah is Beautiful and He loves beauty. He loves noble matters and dislikes pettiness.â Wabisah ibn Maâbad said: The Prophet (peace be upon him) asked me, âHave you come to ask about righteousness and sin?â I said yes. He clenched his fist and struck his chest, saying, âConsult your soul, consult your heart, O Wabisah. Righteousness is what brings peace to your soul and heart, and sin is what wavers inside you and tightens your chest, even if people keep approving it.â This hits different! Aisha narrated: He said, âGentleness adorns everything it touches, and its absence disgraces.â Anas ibn Malik said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, âThis religion is solid and firm, so approach it with gentleness.â Anas also told us: The Prophet (peace be upon him) would visit the homes of the Ansar, greet their children with âassalamu alaikumâ, pat their heads, and make du'a for them. So sweet! Another from Anas: The Prophet (peace be upon him) used to visit us, and I had a little brother nicknamed Abu âUmayr who had a pet sparrow. When it died, the Prophet saw him sad and asked, âWhatâs wrong with him?â They said, âHis sparrow died.â The Prophet comforted him, âO Abu âUmayr, what happened to the little sparrow?â đ Abu Buraydah reported: During a sermon, Hasan and Husayn (may Allah be pleased with them) came in wearing red shirts, walking and tripping. The Prophet came down from the pulpit, picked them up, and held them. He said, âAllah spoke the truth: âYour wealth and your children are a trial.â I saw these two walking and tripping and I just couldnât wait-I cut my speech short to get them.â So relatable! Shidad ibn al-Had said: The Prophet (peace be upon him) came out for an evening prayer carrying his grandson Hasan or Husayn. He put him down, started praying, and prostrated for a really long time at the end. I peeked and the child was on his back during prostration! After prayer, people asked if heâd received a revelation. He said, âNo, my grandson was riding on my back and I didnât want to hurry him before he was done.â How tender is that? Abu Qatadi said: I saw the Prophet praying while carrying Umama, daughter of Zainab. When he stood, heâd hold her; when he prostrated, heâd put her down. Abu Musa Al-Ashâari: I saw the Prophet eating chicken. Just a random everyday moment! đ From âAbdullah ibn Masâood: The Prophet described the last man to enter Paradise-walking, stumbling, burned by the Fire, then saved and given blessings beyond imagination, asking for trees and finally Paradise itself, with Allah smiling at his requests. The Prophet smiled telling this, and it just shows Allahâs immense mercy and humor. The Prophet said, âIslam began as something strange and will return to being strange, so glad tidings to the strangers.â Feels so relevant. And this beautiful one: Allah says, âI am as My servant thinks I am. If he remembers Me in himself, I remember him in Myself. If he comes to Me walking, I come to him running.â Subhanallah. About the dawn prayer, âAdi b. Hatim once put a white and black thread under his pillow to figure out dawn, but couldnât tell them apart. The Prophet laughed and said, âYour pillow is too wide! That (verse) means the blackness of night and whiteness of day.â Kaâb reported: The Prophet said, âA believer is like a tender plant, swayed by wind but returning to balance. A hypocrite is like a rigid cedar, uprooted suddenly.â Abu Huraira said: A man moved a thorny branch from the road, and Allah appreciated it and forgave him. Small deeds matter! And: âGreed and faith never combine in a believerâs heart.â Anas ibn Malik said: âPeople with the most complete faith have the best character-good character can reach the level of constant fasting and prayer.â Lastly, Abu Huraira shared: âMay Allah have mercy on a husband who prays at night and gently wakes his wife to pray, and on a wife who does the same for her husband.â Teamwork in worship! These hadiths just paint such a vivid, passionate picture of our faith-gentle, merciful, and full of love. Which ones do you all love?
