A Brother Seeking Guidance on Making Salah and Wudu Simpler with Autism and ADHD
Assalamu alaikum, everyone. I wanted to share that I live with autism and ADHD, which can make sticking to routines really tough, even when my heart is totally in it. I'm really focusing on strengthening my salah. To make it more manageable, I've adjusted to praying only the fard prayers for now, and honestly, that's helped me see it as less overwhelming and more doable. For me, prayer is my special time to show my love and devotion to Allah (SWT) and to just open my heart to Him. Alhamdulillah, I have reminders set and I am physically able to do wudu, but doing it consistently is still a real struggle for me. I have a few questions, and I'd be so grateful for your advice: 1. What are some other ways I could make both salah and wudu feel easier and more accessible for someone in my situation? 2. After I've made wudu and put on socks, if I need to use the bathroom, can I just wipe over my socks and my wudu will still be valid, as long as I don't actually take the socks off? 3. I've heard that when you're not traveling, the time allowance for wiping over socks is 24 hours. But within that 24-hour period, can I wipe over them again and again every time my wudu breaks, or is there a limit? 4. Is it okay if I rely on wiping over my socks daily to make wudu easier for myself? Since that makes it much easier for me to pray, I'm hoping it's permissible. Jazakum Allahu khayran for any help you can offer.
