Seeking Guidance: Thoughtful Gifts for Muslim Colleagues During Eid
Salaam, everyone! I work with several lovely Somali sisters and wanted to prepare some small gift bags for them to celebrate Eid al-Fitr. I was thinking of including some sweets or baked treats, nice lotions or soaps, and perhaps prayer mats based on suggestions I've seen. But I'm wondering - is it okay or perhaps inappropriate for someone who isn't Muslim to give prayer mats as gifts? I don't want to accidentally offend anyone or overstep. If anyone has experience with this, I'd appreciate your thoughts! Also, since my coworkers won't be at work on Eid day itself, when would be the best time to give these gifts? Should it be before they leave for the holiday or when they return?
