Seeking insight about divine tests
Assalamu alaikum, I was recently asked a thought-provoking question and my response didn’t fully satisfy the person. The question revolves around why some babies or young children pass away before reaching puberty, and therefore don’t undergo the same tests of life that adults face. Why do some experience these trials while others don’t, and how can this be fair if the test isn’t the same for everyone? I shared that we all start as children, so in a way we have similar beginnings; living longer doesn’t necessarily make things unfair because those children also didn’t get to experience life like we do. Plus, it’s just part of Allah’s plan. But I’m wondering if anyone else has a clearer perspective or Islamic understanding on this. Jazakum Allahu khayran for any insights!
