Reflecting on Allah's Mercy for Women in Islam

Salam everyone, I had this thought today and felt like sharing it with my fellow Muslims. Sometimes, people who don't really understand Islam call it 'patriarchal,' claiming it favors men and puts women down. But let's think about it. We women, most of us anyway, go through a menstrual cycle each month. It often brings really tough cramps, mood swings, tiredness, and just makes us feel not ourselves during that time. Here's the beautiful part: in this state, we're excused from praying and fasting. We get a break from these acts of worship, which is a huge mercy from Allah. Missing prayers is normally a serious matter, showing how important salah is, so this allowance is a real relief. Men don't get this kind of break. In man-made systems, women are usually expected to keep up with everything-work, school, daily duties-without much grace for our physical reality. We're supposed to perform just like men, even though our bodies experience clear differences. Yet, those systems claim to be advanced and pro-women. Worshipping Allah is our main purpose in life, and even then, we women are given this compassion. As Sulaiman (peace be upon him) said in the Quran: 'This is by the grace of my Lord… to test me whether I am grateful or ungrateful. And whoever is grateful, it is only for their own good. But whoever is ungrateful, surely my Lord is Self-Sufficient, Most Generous.' (27:40) All praise and thanks are for Allah, the Lord of the Worlds.
