Bojonegoro Prepares 35,000 Doses of FMD Vaccine, Sacrificial Animal Stock Abundant Ahead of Eid al-Adha 1447 H

Ahead of Eid al-Adha 1447 Hijri, the Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Agency (Disnakkan) of Bojonegoro Regency has confirmed that the availability of sacrificial animals is safe and abundant. The total stock reaches 60,349 heads, consisting of 15,504 cattle, 20,211 goats, and 24,634 sheep. The estimated requirement is only around 3,500 cattle, 8,500 goats, and 9,500 sheep. Disnakkan Bojonegoro has intensified health surveillance of sacrificial animals across various regions. "We're carrying out surveillance of sacrificial animals so that we can detect if there are any livestock affected by disease," explained the Head of the Animal Health, Processing, and Marketing of Livestock Products Division at Disnakkan, Lutfi Nurrahman. The monitoring involves technical officers in all sub-districts with direct inspections at farmers' pens. Although no cases of Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) have been found yet, vigilance is being heightened. The Bojonegoro Regency Government has prepared around 35,000 doses of FMD vaccine to anticipate the potential spread of the disease among livestock.
