Could there be a deeper reason for the delay?
Assalamu alaykum, everyone. I’ve been making duaa for something really specific for nearly three years now. Besides doing everything I can practically and pouring in so much effort, I’ve been following all the Islamic guidance to invite more barakah into my life. Alhamdulillah, I stay on top of my fardh prayers and sunnah, but also I’ve cut back on sins as best I can, keep a daily dhikr routine, and have prayed tahajjud and witr for over a year. I read a bit of the Qur’an every day with some reflection, give sadaqah even though money’s tight, was blessed to go for umrah twice (once in Ramadan, making heartfelt duaa the whole time), fast sunnah fasts for a year now, look out for the special hour on Fridays, and fasted the nine days of Dhul Hijjah with loads of duaa on Arafah day. I’m not implying Allah is ignoring me, or that He doesn’t hear me-astaghfirullah. My faith isn’t slipping; it’s solid. And I’m not thinking Allah’s punishing me or hates me, astaghfirullah again. Honestly, this whole thing has brought me closer to Him and I’m full of shukr. I get that Allah tests the most pious people, and having ease in worldly stuff isn’t proof of His favor. I’m just wondering… when you’ve wept and begged for relief for years and nothing shifts… what could the hikmah be? I pour my heart out to Allah because I’m completely lost on what else to do. No words left, just tears and pleas.
