132 Dai Sent to Remote Areas, Dakwah Now Brings Clean Water and Energy
A total of 132 young dai have been sent to remote areas through a partnership between UPZDK Permata Bank Syariah and the Indonesian Islamic Dakwah Council (DDII). This program combines dakwah with basic infrastructure development such as mosques, clean water wells, and solar panels.
DDII General Chairman Adian Husaini emphasized that dakwah is not just about conveying religious values, but also about bringing tangible benefits through care and community assistance. The dai will serve for two years in areas with limited access to education, health, and clean water.
This support is also directed toward achieving the SDGs, including education that has freed 117,979 people from Quranic illiteracy, solar-powered telemedicine services, and the construction of 395 wells and 30 sanitation facilities.
This send-off coincides with Indonesia's 81st Independence Day as an effort to equalize social and religious services.
