Yoni Found at Religious Gathering Site in Pendem Village, Batu City, Suspected to Be Part of Ancient Site

A stone initially thought to be a regular mortar at the land of the Maulid Wat Taklim Riyadlul Jannah Assembly in Pendem Village, Batu City, has been identified as a yoni, an artifact from ancient Hindu heritage. This discovery was reported to the Village Government and the Batu City Tourism Office for further identification. According to Hartarto, Head of the Culture Division at Batu City Disparta, the yoni measures approximately 50x50 cm with a spout and decorative ornaments still clearly visible. A foundation stone, suspected to be part of an ancient building structure, was also found. In Hindu tradition, the yoni is a symbol of fertility, but its companion lingga has not yet been located at the site. Batu City is known to be rich in historical relics.
