How do you deal with tough financial times?

Assalamu alaikum everyone, I've been struggling through some really difficult financial challenges for a couple of years now. I keep up with my prayers, make dua while in sujood, and try to recite istighfar daily-aiming for a lot each day. But somehow, things aren't improving; in fact, they feel like they're getting harder. We're halfway through the month, and I've got very little left, with no promising updates on any freelance work or other sources of income. How do you all handle these situations? Are there any specific duas or practices that have brought you comfort or relief? Jazakum Allahu khayran for any advice.
