Need guidance on learning about Islam

Assalamu alaikum! I was raised in a Muslim country and used to be practicing, but recently I stepped away because my mental health took a hit and I kind of gave up on faith altogether. Part of what pushed me away was my lack of knowledge-I felt like a terrible Muslim and figured it might be easier to just leave the religion entirely. Now I want to build a proper understanding of Islam, but I’m not sure where to begin. I’m a little shy about asking anyone in person, lol. Any tips?
