My journey to the Quran and Islam
Assalamu alaikum! I wanted to share a bit of my story, as I’m still quite new to Islam-I grew up in a Christian family here in Finland. A while back, life got really tough, and I was questioning everything about my faith. I was lost, honestly. Then one evening, about a year ago, it’s like the Quran just appeared in my life out of nowhere. I don’t even remember how I got it-it was just there. I started listening to an audiobook version, and subhanAllah, the peace and comfort it brought... it just warmed my soul. I kept thinking, this actually makes sense. All of it. Life felt a bit lighter after that, but I got busy and put the Quran aside for a while. Yet I always felt pulled back to it. Now I’m listening again, and that same beautiful feeling washes over me each time. I’m already halfway through, and I’m more convinced than ever that Allah sent me this book at the exact moment I needed it. It’s hard to explain-it was just there with me, like a gift. In Christianity, God promises good in everything, but the Quran gives me clear boundaries and shows that my actions have real consequences, good or bad. The miracles in Christianity sometimes felt forced, but in the Quran, Allah’s power feels so natural. I’ve always believed in karma, and the Quran aligns with that-what you do comes back to you. Christianity often says you’re saved no matter what, which led me astray. But the Quran has taught me accountability; it gives me the structure I needed. Through it, I feel like I have the father I never had-one who sets limits out of pure love, who blesses me when I do good. Now I see it less as karma and more as Allah’s mercy and blessings. I also think even non-believers should read the Quran-it’s full of life lessons for everyone. I started listening as practically an atheist, but Alhamdulillah, I found my Lord through it. I was lost, but Allah guided me from Christianity to Islam, to the straight path, right when I was at a crossroads. For that, I’m endlessly grateful. (I used some help to write this, but I hope my point came across!)
