Everything’s falling apart and I’m barely holding on. Could use some encouragement.
As-salamu alaykum, everyone. I finished my degree about two months back, and I honestly thought I’d land a job right away. But it’s been way tougher than I imagined. Almost every listing asks for a master’s or a bunch of experience I don’t have. I’ve thrown my application at everything-remote work, stuff nearby, internships, even retail, fast food, Walmart. Only got one callback, for a clothing store, but they went with someone else. I’ve worked retail before, so that stung. Sometimes I catch myself wondering if my hijab made them think I wouldn’t blend in, but Allahu alam-He knows what’s best. Just rejection after rejection, and it’s wearing me down. On top of that, my car keeps dying on me. The dealership wanted over $5,000 for repairs, so I took it to a local guy and paid to fix the alternator. That left me with less than $80 in my account. Then a week later, it broke down again, and now even the mechanic can’t figure out what’s going on. I don’t come from a well-off family-most expenses, including the car, have been on me. I’ve been keeping up with all five prayers, alhamdulillah. Trying to read Quran consistently, even if it’s just a few lines. I’m making dua nonstop, fighting to hold onto hope, but it’s almost two months now and I’m just so tired. I don’t even have a working car to get to an interview if one finally comes. I’m not writing this because I’m upset with Allah, astaghfirullah, or losing faith. I’m just exhausted, akhi/ukhti. If any of you have been through something like this, please share how you got through it-I’d really love to hear. Please, please make dua that Allah opens a door for me, grants me rizq, and lightens this burden for me and my family. JazakAllahu khayr.
