Feeling the Weight of Injustice Against Muslims

Assalamu alaikum. I just came across that article about the film Citizen Vigilante, and when I checked Instagram, the comments were shocking-people literally calling for the killing of all Muslims. It’s one thing to hold individuals accountable for terrible acts, but they’re painting every Muslim as guilty. Nowhere in the Quran or any hadith is this taught. Yet, when a Muslim does something wrong, even if they aren’t practicing, the whole faith gets blamed. But when someone from another religion makes a mistake, their religion isn’t attacked the same way. The hypocrisy is overwhelming. Why are we singled out like this, and what can we do to counter this hatred?
