NTB Police Uncover 442 Drug Cases in Six Months, Chief Reaffirms Commitment to Eradicate Drugs
The West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police (Polda NTB) together with district police forces uncovered 442 drug abuse cases from January to June 2026, arresting 574 suspects (507 men, 67 women). NTB Police Chief Inspector General Kalingga Rendra Raharja announced this at a press conference on Friday (6/26) in Mataram.
Seized evidence includes meth, marijuana, 647 ecstasy pills, 36,995 tramadol pills, 6,370 bottles of illegal alcohol, and more. The evidence destruction event was also attended by Forkopimda officials, the National Narcotics Agency (BNN), Customs, the NTB branch of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), and related stakeholders.
The Police Chief emphasized Polda NTB's commitment to the 'War On Drugs', leaving no room for offenders. He called for synergy among all community elements, including religious leaders and educators, to prevent drug trafficking in order to save the next generation.
MUI NTB chairman Dr. TGH. Badrun applauded this firm action and stated that a Friday sermon script on the dangers of drugs has been prepared and will be delivered at around 4,250 mosques across NTB through the MUI network and the Ministry of Religious Affairs offices.
