IPW Chief Urges KPK to Expose Forwarder Network in Customs Corruption Case
Indonesia Police Watch (IPW) chief Sugeng Teguh Santoso is pushing the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) not to focus solely on PT Blueray Cargo in the suspected illegal import corruption case at the Directorate General of Customs and Excise. He’s urging an investigation into other forwarding companies allegedly involved in the import conditioning network. "KPK has to be bold enough to expose this, not just PT Blueray," Sugeng stressed in Jakarta on Thursday (6/25/2026).
This statement aligns with the KPK’s ongoing effort to expand the probe into several other forwarders. KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo said investigators are looking into the manipulation of green and red lane systems believed to be used to slip through imported goods. Investigators have also questioned logistics business players and traced money flows, including seizing five vehicles suspected to have been bought with corruption proceeds.
Sugeng emphasized the need to dismantle the entire chain that benefits from these practices. He warned that the case shouldn’t stop at just a few perpetrators, leaving others who might have played strategic roles untouched. The KPK’s success, he said, will be measured by its ability to map out and uncover all the nodes in the import corruption network.
