Christian Man Wins Quran Competition, Gives Umrah Prize to Muslim Neighbor
A Christian guy named Mina in Egypt won a Quran competition and scored an umrah prize. He handed the prize over to his neighbor, Um Ali, who had been longing to go to the Holy Land of Mecca for ages.
Mina joined the competition which was livestreamed on social media, led by preacher Dr. Ayman Abu Omar. With the Quran knowledge he picked up plus some help from Um Ali, he managed to answer about 50 to 60 questions right. Mina's motivation, he told Sky News Arabia, was purely to get that umrah trip for his neighbor.
Um Ali mentioned that Mina's participation caught folks' attention cause of his religious background. The two of them have been tight for over 20 years, and Mina sees Um Ali like an older sister.
This story went viral on Egyptian social media, getting praised as a real example of the strong bond between Muslim and Christian neighbors.
