Just embraced Islam and left Hinduism behind

Assalamu alaikum, so yeah I made the switch. I couldn’t get close to Ram in the temple while carrying, so I embraced Islam. My parents are still Hindu, and I just wanted a faith where I can feel near to Allah without people blocking me. Can someone share the basic rules with me, please?
