How do you choose where to give your Zakat and Sadaqah?

Salam, everyone! I'm honestly a bit lost with all the charities out there and wanna make sure my money actually helps people properly. Like, how do you personally decide who to trust with your Zakat or Sadaqah? I'd love to hear about organizations you've given to and felt good about, or just any tips on figuring out if a charity is legit. BarakAllahu feekum for any advice or stories you can share!
