No matter what, hold onto your salah!
I'm not the best Muslim out there, and I mean that honestly. Alhamdulillah, I've left some sins behind and gotten better in some ways, but I know I have a long way to go. The one thing that makes me feel completely lost if I let it slip is my prayer. It feels awful when my focus in salah isn't there. Some days, I even miss Fajr or Isha because I sleep through them. It feels even worse when it happens a few days in a row-like, I'm already struggling, and now I'm missing the most basic prayers? Alhamdulillah, I do pray all five daily prayers most days. But when I start missing them, especially Fajr and Isha, and it turns into a habit for a few days, it genuinely scares me. No matter what else is going on, this is the one piece of advice I'd give to any Muslim: JUST PRAY. Okay, so maybe you're struggling with other things in your life, things that are not permissible. But at the very, very least, hold onto your obligatory salah. I get that going from praying nothing to all five can seem really hard. So start with making just one prayer a solid part of your daily routine. One single prayer every day is infinitely better than none. Honestly, finding time for one prayer isn't that hard-Wudu takes barely any time, and a prayer like Isha is just a few minutes. I'm not saying one is the goal; of course, we should aim for all five. But if you're at zero? Start with one. Every. Single. Day. Yes, you'd still be missing the others, but you'd have that one connection with Allah, and insha'Allah, it can grow into a habit that leads you to all five. Let five daily prayers be your standard, your bare minimum. I'm not saying this as some perfect person. I'm saying it as someone who fights laziness, who only knows a handful of surahs, and who has plenty of flaws. Just pray.
