Kemenag's Isbat Session to Determine the Start of Zulhijjah and Eid al-Adha 1447 H Timing
Indonesia's Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag) is set to hold an isbat (verification) session to determine the start of the month of Zulhijjah 1447 Hijri on Sunday, May 17th. The session will be conducted at the H.M. Rasjidi Auditorium, Kemenag Office, Jakarta, which coincides with the 29th of Zulkaidah 1447 H.
This determination of the beginning of Zulhijjah is the government's official mechanism for setting the Hijri calendar, including the day for Eid al-Adha, which falls on the 10th of Zulhijjah. As of now, an official decision regarding the timing of the Eid al-Adha holiday hasn't been announced yet.
Kemenag shared this information via the official Bimas Islam Instagram account. The isbat session is a key determinant for Indonesian Muslims in preparing for the Eid al-Adha celebration, which is closely associated with the ritual animal sacrifice.
