Concerns About Staying True to Faith
Salam everyone. It's tough seeing so many people around me drifting away from Islam. A lot of the youth, including folks I know, don't take their deen seriously anymore and even mock it, which is really heartbreaking. Using Allah's name lightly or saying disrespectful things has become way too common, and it's something I just can't accept. Some areas are more traditional, but even there, it often feels like people are Muslim more out of habit than true belief and understanding. They might not really know their faith well. I really want to study Islamic theology properly – there are good schools here – but living in this environment makes it hard to focus on growing spiritually. While this place has modern developments and education, my soul feels uneasy in a society that's becoming so distant from Islamic values. It's lonely sometimes; when I try to talk about faith, people act like I'm strange or just sigh. I've never met another practicing Muslim who is as committed. My heart is set on deepening my Islamic knowledge and living a life fully dedicated to Allah, perhaps even becoming a scholar or imam one day. I dream of being in a community that truly lives by Islam, not just in name. Has anyone else felt this way? Is moving to a Muslim country where faith is practiced sincerely a good option? I wouldn't want to compromise on development either. Are the Gulf nations welcoming for students wanting to study Islam? Any advice on good colleges for Islamic studies would mean a lot. I just want to be where Islam is alive in people's hearts and actions.
