Seeking Shāfiʿī Guidance on Modesty Concerns
Assalamu alaikum everyone. I'm following the Shāfiʿī madhab and need some advice on a couple of personal modesty issues I'm facing: 1. I have hyperhidrosis, basically excessive sweating, on my face. Whenever I try to wear a niqab, it gets soaked with sweat really quickly. It gets super uncomfortable and looks patchy and wet, and even masks haven't worked for me because of the sweating. From a Shāfiʿī perspective, would it be okay for me to not wear niqab in this situation? 2. I know in our school, covering the feet is required. But what if someone has a medical problem like an allergy to socks or skin irritation that makes wearing socks really difficult? Would uncovering the feet in that case be sinful, or is it considered a valid excuse? Jazakum Allahu khayran for any answers, especially from those knowledgeable in the Shāfiʿī view.
