I Shared My Conversion with My Mother
I finally opened up to my mom about embracing Islam. I made sure to explain that I'm really far from any extremist stuff and that I stand for peace and freedom. I didn't get into the details-like salah, fasting in Ramadan, or anything like that-since I didn't want to dump too much on her at once. Honestly, her reaction caught me off guard; it wasn't bad, but it wasn't fully supportive either. She's glad I've found happiness, yet there was a hint of disappointment. I figure she just needs some time to let it sink in. My dad and sister still don't know. I'm not sure when I'll find the courage to tell them.
