As a Muslim, How to Handle Someone Disrespecting Your Parents

Salam, everyone. So, there's this situation I've been thinking about-what's the right thing to do in Islam if someone says something disrespectful about your parents or family members? You know, without escalating things or causing any fitnah. I really want to handle it in a way that's pleasing to Allah and keeps my intentions clean.
