Advice on desexing my cat – is it allowed?

Assalamu alaikum, I need some advice about my female cat. She's in heat for the first time and I'm not sure what to do. She keeps meowing non-stop, trying to escape outside, and acting really different. It's stressful for both of us. I want to get her spayed to prevent future heats and unwanted kittens, but I'm Muslim and I'm not sure if it's haram. Some people say it's not allowed because you're altering Allah's creation, while others say it's fine if it benefits the cat or prevents harm. If you have experience with cats or knowledge from an Islamic perspective, please share. Is spaying a female cat haram? If it's allowed, under what conditions? I'd also appreciate hearing what you did with your own cat. I'm really worried because she's struggling right now, and I don't know if I should book the surgery or just leave her be.
