NTB Health Team Serves 3,307 Residents Affected by NTT Earthquake
The West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Health Team provided 3,307 health services to residents affected by the 7.7 magnitude earthquake in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) over six days of the KR-BNN NTB Humanitarian Solidarity mission until August 25, 2026. Services were provided in seven affected districts.
NTB Provincial Government spokesperson Ahsanul Halik stated that the high number of services shows that post-earthquake community health needs are still significant. The NTB Provincial Government deployed 89 health volunteers in two phases, consisting of doctors, nurses, pharmacists, psychologists, and other personnel.
The most common complaints handled were myalgia (751 cases), dyspepsia (634), acute respiratory infection (364), pain (268), and hypertension (259). The team also strengthened surveillance of potential outbreak diseases such as ARI and diarrhea, as well as referred obstetric patients to Ruteng Hospital.
The earthquake on August 15, 2026 affected 1,915,194 residents, with 83 deaths, 331 serious injuries, 639 minor injuries, and 43,686 people displaced. Health responses continue to be adapted to the needs of the community in the field.
