MUI and LAZ Map Out Medium-Long Term Recovery After NTT Earthquake
The Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) together with zakat management organizations (LAZ) are mapping out medium and long-term recovery needs for earthquake survivors in NTT. An MUI assessment team has been deployed to the field for five days to ensure programs are targeted correctly.
MUI Deputy Secretary General for Disaster Management Mabroer MS stated that recovery focuses on damaged religious and Islamic educational facilities, including mosques, prayer rooms, and Islamic boarding schools. The assessment results will serve as the basis for determining renovation or rebuilding programs.
MUI emphasizes the importance of restoring community life, including ensuring children can return to school, through collaboration among various parties.
