We don’t talk enough about how Khadijah (RA) cared for the Prophet ﷺ

As-salamu alaykum - one thing I think gets overlooked (especially when we discuss marriage) is how Khadijah (RA) treated Prophet Muhammad ﷺ long before Islam was widespread. She wasn’t just a supporter. She lifted him up in every way a spouse can. • She respected his character so much she proposed to him. • She placed her wealth at his service and said, “My wealth is yours.” • When revelation first came, she comforted him and assured him, “Allah will never disgrace you.” • She believed in him instantly, before almost anyone else. • She made their home a calm, peaceful place rather than a source of stress. • She honored him so profoundly that Jibril (AS) conveyed peace to her from Allah. When we talk about marriage in Islam we often emphasize the man’s role as provider - which is important. But we don’t often mention Khadijah’s role as a devoted wife: her loyalty, her respect, her emotional wisdom, and how she sheltered his heart when he needed it most. The Prophet ﷺ spoke of her love and held her in high regard even after she passed. That deep love was born from how she treated him. If we want stronger Muslim marriages today, we should revive both sides of the Sunnah: the man’s duty to provide, and the woman’s duty to support with love, loyalty, and kindness, following the example of Khadijah (RA).
