Vivienne Westwood to Grace Riyadh Fashion Week 2025 with a Special Collection
As-salamu alaykum! Vivienne Westwood is set to make its first appearance in the Middle East at Riyadh Fashion Week 2025, opening the event on October 16 with a unique runway show that blends British fashion heritage with the beautiful craftsmanship of Saudi artisans.
The show will take place in a palm grove in Riyadh, chosen to honor the palm tree as a symbol of life and resilience in our culture. Against this inspiring setting, Vivienne Westwood will present a capsule collection of gowns embroidered by skilled Saudi craftsmen, created in collaboration with Art of Heritage. These will be showcased alongside pieces from Westwood’s spring 2026 collection and some classic designs from their archives.
Carlo D’Amario, CEO of Vivienne Westwood, shared that this partnership highlights their commitment to connecting international fashion with local traditions: “We’ve worked on a special collection of embroidered gowns that combine the talents of our couture team with the expertise of local artisans – a meaningful way to celebrate our heritage through a global lens.”
Princess Nourah bint Mohammed Al Faisal, CEO of Art of Heritage, emphasized that this collaboration is about more than just clothes: “Heritage isn’t just history, it’s a living force shaping our identity and future. Working with Vivienne Westwood shows how Saudi craftsmanship can speak globally with authenticity and creativity.”
Riyadh Fashion Week is returning for its third edition from October 16 to 21 at venues like Bedrock, Al Mamlaka, and Jax. Over 30 designers will participate, featuring Saudi talents such as Tima Abid, Atelier Hekayat, Abadia, Hindamme, and 1886 alongside international labels.
Since starting in 2023, the event has grown with support from the Fashion Commission under the Ministry of Culture. Riyadh Fashion Week aims to support the local design scene, attract worldwide attention, and give emerging artists a platform to shine.
Princess Nourah adds, “This is more than fashion; it’s about building bridges between histories, identities, and creativity. Most importantly, it allows Saudi artisans to proudly share our story with beauty and confidence.”
May Allah bless this inspiring event and the talented people behind it!
