My Grandfather Passed Away Two Days Ago

Assalamu alaikum. My grandfather returned to Allah two days ago. He was the kindest, most gentle soul I’ve ever known, yet he endured so much hardship. He had two sons: one left him, and the other was too ill to care for himself. So he came to live with us, but my father wasn’t kind to him… He went through a lot. He had a heart condition, but we gave him a small room, almost separate from the rest of the house. At night, he couldn’t come inside or be with anyone. Maybe you think we were cruel, but truly, this was the best my mother and I could do, since it’s my father’s house. He had a heart attack alone in that small room around 5 a.m., and we found him at 7. Please make du’a for him, even a short one. It feels like the most compassionate people suffer most in this world. I can’t write anymore, it’s so hard, I haven’t slept in days. My mother and he were my only family; I don’t count my father, and I think he didn’t either. Finding his cold, still body was an experience beyond words. If the world had been a little softer towards him, maybe his end would have been easier… What could I do? I’m only 16 and already been through therapy. Whoever reads this, please say a small du’a for him-it only takes a moment.
