Seeking advice from sisters on wearing hijab in small U.S. towns

Assalamu alaikum sisters, I'm reaching out to those of you who wear hijab and dress modestly here in the States. What's it been like living in small towns where there's hardly any Muslims, or in more conservative areas? I’d also love to hear how you handle Islamophobia in general as a hijabi. I'm a revert and insha'Allah I want to start wearing hijab full-time, but I'll be moving to a town with very few Muslims, if any. I'm honestly a little scared for my safety and just trying to get ready for what might come. So I'd be grateful for any stories or tips you can share. JazakAllah khair for any thoughts.
