I have found faith, and I’d love to learn what Islam can teach me
Assalamu alaikum! I’m not a Muslim myself, but my heart has been opening to God recently. I grew up in a non-religious home, and after a long search, I’ve been drawn to faith. Most people around me are Christian, so that’s the path I’ve started on, but I’ve always been curious about Islam too. I honestly know very little, so if anyone could give me a simple guide or share the basics, I’d be so grateful. I’m here to listen with an open heart. Here are some things I’ve been wondering about-maybe you can help clear them up? I know you respect Jesus (peace be upon him) and his teachings, but how exactly do you see him? Is he a prophet, the Messiah, or something more connected to God? I’ve heard that Muslim women don’t pray during their period. Is that true, and if so, what’s the wisdom behind it? Is it common for Muslim men to have more than one wife, or is that just a misunderstanding? As a woman myself, I’d love to hear what daily life feels like for a Muslimah. No judgment, just genuine curiosity about what it’s like to follow Allah. Is it correct that “Allah” is simply the Arabic word for God? If yes, why do English-speaking Muslims still use “Allah” instead of “God”? I also heard that in Islam, God is beyond gender, so sometimes you switch pronouns. Is that a thing? And just for fun: if you could share one thing about your faith with someone who doesn’t believe, what would it be? Jazakallahu khairan for any answers you can give!
