Salaam - My 10 tiny goals for 2025 and how they turned out
As-salamu alaykum - Last year I shared a list of 10 tiny goals for 2025 because I was in a rough patch and needed some small things to look forward to. I figured smaller goals would be easier to reach and could bring a bit of hope. I encouraged others to try the same, and I’ve heard from people who kept their lists and found it helpful. If you see this, try writing your own - it really can change your mood. Here’s my 2025 list and what actually happened: MY 10 TINY GOALS FOR 2025: 1. Wear my new vintage dress and coat when summer comes - check! Felt nice and confident. 2. Do a musical collab with someone - still in progress. I started it though, so semi-check. 3. Fix up my cat's scratch pole - check! Got new rope and repaired it; she loves it. 4. Give a compliment to a stranger - check (eventually). I kept hesitating, then complimented a cashier on her hair and she brightened up. Little kindnesses matter. 5. Make someone's day - check. Someone told me I did, and it felt really good. Helping others really pays off. 6. Take a waltz - check! Even danced a waltz at a community ball. 7. Finish a crochet project - still working on it. Surprising how stubborn this one is, but I’m committed to finishing. 8. Climb something high - check! Hiked a steep hill to watch a stormy sunset over a Danish beach. One of my favourite moments. 9. Buy myself a nice bouquet of flowers - check. Treated myself on the last day of the year with pink roses and white chrysanthemums. Still lovely. 10. Go on a date - check! Without too many details, it went even better than I expected. My list for next year will be shorter because I’m focusing on bigger projects I’ve already started. MY NEW GOALS FOR 2026: 1. Read more books than I did last year. 2. Make a playlist for someone as a thoughtful gift. 3. Learn basic juggling (for fun and coordination). 4.
