Reaching out for help with my father

I know some people might be quick to judge, but I ended up contacting the authorities about my dad, who's Muslim, because he almost tried to choke and hurt me. I'm fully aware that we're in the blessed month of Ramadan, a time for peace and avoiding conflict, but unfortunately, it still happened, and I made that difficult call. I feel so guilty about having officers come to our home, and I'm really struggling with how my parents and family might ever forgive me after this. It's just weighing heavily on my heart.
