Practical Tip: 5 Things I Always Keep in My Car (Salam!)
Assalamu alaikum - just sharing five simple things I always keep in my car that have saved me more than once: 1. A towel. I live in a place where rain comes out of nowhere. It’s so helpful to dry off after hopping in the car, or when I spill a drink on myself or the console. A small, clean towel tucked in the front cubby is really handy. 2. A small cooler. I use it to keep takeaway hot on the drive home or to keep cold/frozen groceries cold after shopping. Useful for food and also for keeping drinks cool on long drives. 3. An envelope with small bills. Not a lot - maybe around $50. I don’t carry cash in my wallet, so having some in the car helps when you need to tip a helpful mechanic, eat at a cash-only place, or buy produce from a roadside stand. 4. An extra pair of sunglasses, reading glasses, or old prescription specs. These have saved me many times when I thought I had them with me but didn’t. Tip: the car can be rough on glasses, so keep an inexpensive or older pair for the vehicle. 5. An old quilt or blanket. I fold an old quilt in the back of my SUV. We use it for picnics after hikes, to cover purchases if the car needs to sit, and as an extra layer to protect perishables from heat when stopping at multiple stores. Hope this helps - simple things but they make outings smoother. JazakAllah khair for reading.
