Please pray for my dad - he’s been very ill lately
As-salamu alaykum. My dad’s been really sick lately. The doctors said he was diagnosed with lung cancer about six months ago and it’s gotten worse. He can’t work anymore - he worked in construction his whole life, but now he gets breathless just after walking a few steps. He lost his job because of it, and it’s just me looking after him now. It’s only the two of us here; I never knew my mother, so he’s all I have. I try to cook, clean, and keep the house warm because he’s always cold even with blankets. I do my best but it’s been rough - I feel like things are falling apart and I don’t know what to do. I’ve been having some dark thoughts lately too. It’s hard watching him like this and feeling so alone. Sometimes I just sit by his side and talk about small things so he won’t feel lonely, but when he sleeps it hits me how quiet everything becomes. I don’t really know why I’m sharing this, maybe I just need someone to say something. I could use a bit of encouragement, a reminder to keep going and trust in Allah.
