MAPIM: Iran's Largest Funeral Procession Becomes a Declaration of National Resolve
Millions of Iranians flooded Tehran on Monday (6/7/2026) in the funeral procession of their leader who fell to a planned assassination. The President of the Malaysian Consultative Council of Islamic Organization (MAPIM), Mohd Azmi Abdul Hamid, said this event isn't just a mourning ritual, but a political and moral statement to the world. "This isn't just a funeral ceremony, it's a nation speaking with one voice," he said.
Azmi thinks this massive show of solidarity proves Iran's resilience in facing global pressure, including economic sanctions and isolation. In his view, the leader's martyrdom actually strengthens internal solidarity. "Martyrdom has never destroyed a people whose identity is rooted in faith," he stressed.
MAPIM also calls on the Islamic world to reflect on unity, lamenting sectarian divisions amidst coordinated external forces pressing on the Middle East. Azmi urges that this moment become the start of a new Islamic awakening. The phenomenon of the sea of clenched fists during the procession, he said, is a symbol that death brings to life a greater collective struggle.
