NTB Regional Police Examine Mother of Deceased Student in Student Burning Case

NTB Regional Police have started questioning witnesses from the victims' families in the case of three students being burned at Rosyidatussaulatiyyah Al-Ibrahimi NW Islamic Boarding School in Central Lombok. Sobirin's mother, whose son died in the incident, underwent her first examination at NTB Police Headquarters on Friday (7/24), accompanied by legal counsel from Hotman 911. The case was taken over from Central Lombok Police on July 14, 2026, following a recommendation from House of Representatives Commission III for a more thorough, professional, and transparent investigation. The victims' lawyer, Kusnaini, said the questioning was delayed due to the mother's health condition after attending a hearing in Jakarta. So far, investigators have named two suspects: AMR (55), head of the boarding school, and MR (15), a student with the status of a child in conflict with the law. The victims' families hope that the witness examinations by NTB Regional Police will uncover all the facts and identify all responsible parties.
