Need uplifting verses to overcome a struggle
Assalamu alaikum, I've been Muslim for about five years now, alhamdulillah. But lately, I've been struggling with a serious gambling addiction that started last year, and now I'm over 35k in debt. I tried to quit and held myself accountable-I even made it 70 days without gambling, but I slipped back. I truly believe I can beat this eventually. I just need some Quranic verses or reminders that can lift my spirits, because I feel so worthless and like life isn't worth it. I miss how things were before I started. I've prayed so much, begging Allah for help, doing my best to change, but I don't see any progress. Even during those 70 days, my life was just filled with stress and nothing improved. I don't want this kind of test-it makes me want to give up, not keep going. As a kid, my life was really tough, one of the worst you can imagine. But I was always a good kid, stayed away from drugs, alcohol, and crime. Now I look in the mirror and can't believe who I've become. Is this really the path Allah chose for me? Am I stuck like this forever? What now-work a job I hate just to pay off debts like a robot? I feel so lost, depressed, and unhappy. JazakAllah khair for any advice or verses you can share.
