Modest clothing and hijab tips for warm weather
Assalamu alaikum - I’m in the middle of converting to Islam and have been slowly making my wardrobe more modest. I cleared out a lot but now I need to do some shopping. I’m hoping for affordable stores with decent quality. I’ve looked at a few online shops and liked some pieces, especially sets that give you a whole outfit for a reasonable price. I’d love suggestions for casual lightweight dresses/abayas or pant/top/abaya sets that work well in hot climates - I live in Florida so it’s warm most of the year. I want the best value without breaking the bank, but I’m willing to spend a bit more for better quality. Also, any thoughts on bottoms that would be considered appropriate? I don’t really like jeans, though I wear them sometimes. The ones I own are high-waisted skinny jeans with a tighter fit. If I pair them with a long top or an abaya, is that acceptable, or should I switch to looser-leg styles? For hijabs: I work in food service/retail management and have a strict dress code - I need to wear an earpiece radio and a visor. I can cover my hair, but I’m worried about comfortably covering my neck under those conditions. Is there a snug undercap or work-friendly hijab style you’d recommend? Would a long turtleneck undercap work, or are there other practical options for a busy work environment? Any tips or brand/store recommendations for warm-weather, work-friendly modest wear would be really helpful. JazakAllahu khairan.
