Mariam Mohamed: Proudly Representing the UAE at Miss Universe
As-salamu alaykum! This November, Mariam Mohamed will make history by becoming the first Emirati woman to participate in the prestigious Miss Universe competition. At 26 years old, Mariam, a fashion student from Dubai, earned the title of Miss Universe UAE and will proudly represent the country at the global event held in Pak Kret, Thailand, on November 21. Now in its 74th year, the Miss Universe pageant brings together contestants from 130 countries, watched by millions worldwide. Mariam shared, "Wearing this title is a tremendous honor. It’s not just my journey but the hope of every dreamer in the UAE. The nation has inspired me to dream big, and I aim to represent women who are ambitious, curious, and determined. Miss Universe UAE is about making a positive impact beyond beauty." She enjoys falconry and camel riding, loves exploring new cultures, and dreams of helping reduce global poverty and empowering women. Mariam believes Miss Universe is about resilience and the strength of women supporting each other. Although Mariam is the first Emirati contestant at Miss Universe, other residents have represented the UAE in the past. Women from all backgrounds who have lived in the UAE for at least three years can compete for Miss Universe UAE. Mariam will also join fellow Middle Eastern contestants from countries including Palestine, Iraq, Bahrain, Egypt, Lebanon, and Iran. Mariam hopes to showcase the UAE’s story of empowerment, sustainability, and innovation, showing that Emirati women honor tradition while leading the way for the future. May Allah bless her journey and grant her success in representing our beloved country on this international stage.
